It's amazing how every ten years or so, somebody rediscovers the
Confederados again. I like reading about them, though. They certainly had better timing than those who went to Mexico to fight for Maximilian.
I'm just glad my Confederate ancestors went back, a little deeper, into Texas.

My great-grandfather was one of the Confederate soldiers that fled into Mexico rather than surrender. He eventually ended up living in London.

I went to a Civil War museam, and they had on display an actual Confederate Battle flag used during the war.
Of course, a black woman there whispered "haters" and "raaaycis."
Even my wife was ticked off.
