I’ve owned three labs. They are impossible to wear out thru exercise. They do get fat when they get older. They are also clowns and rally do chew everything.
Our full bred lab turned about 30 linear feet of treated pine lattice under my deck railings into toothpicks when she was a near full grown puppy. A good dog, but I wouldn’t own another lab without living in a house in the country. They really need more elbow room than suburbia provides, I believe.
My chocolate lab is 10 years old, is at an ideal weight and never chews anything other than her own toys. She never chewed any of the grand kids' balls or toys. She can always differentiate between her toys and grand kids toys. But she is slowing down a little. She takes a break from fetch the ball every now and then.
