I have a little short barrel flintlock that’s fun to shoot. Not exactly traditional in terms of size, and with a modern barrel twist, so it can handle 50 cal slugs, but it’s still made from traditional materials, and equipped with a double trigger. Once you set it you barley have to touch it. It’s pretty accurate and can handle both patch and ball and slugs ok.
I was lucky enough to be well into the industry when some great saboted copper hollow points were developed for snout loaders, and if there was something that would get me to leave behind the knife and strip of patch cloth, it was those.
