I am with you. Choosing Trump as the better candidate is one thing. This character assassination of a conservative champion is another. They’ll single out TPA or another issue, as if being anything but 100% doctrinaire is the only thing acceptable. That would be fine if their alternative solution is about 40% conservative. But hell, lets toss the guy with 100% conservative rating overboard. This election took a bad turn in January when Trump let loose on Cruz. It was unnecessary and made things a lot worse in the long run. He alienated a large block of voters who had Trump as their 2nd pick.

Exactly. That was my point: he's stood up to 0bama when others refused to do so. He hasn't been perfect by a long stretch (nobody has), but Ted's fought the good fight. And he's just following the rules regarding the delegates, not 'cheating'.

Cruz is no”conservative champion”.

People finally figured out that he is an ambitious opportunist who wants to win at any cost, who played a conservative, because he figured that will get him elected president.

Thank you both. My thoughts exactly. I don’t usually post on Trump or Cruz threads because of the venom at the mere mention of Cruz’s name. Yet, in the end, I will vote for Trump. Hildebeast must not be allowed the presidency.

This character assassination of a conservative champion is another.

The Left, Media, GOPe, and Ted Cruz are the ones who are out of control with the lies and character assassination, not to mention Machiavellian tactics.

Ted Cruz has shown himself to be a naked opportunist who will say anything that's politically expedient, and has actually given validity to Donald Trump's "Lyin' Ted" label, which was initially not so effective.

Ted Cruz was my initial preference, but he alienated me by playing the race card on Donald Trump (for God's sake) and then, when the Chicago rally was shutdown by thugs, Cruz showed the same tendency to politicize things into outright smears. On top of that he showed no leadership qualities in that incident as well. There should have been unequivocal support for both the party and the frontrunner in the face of violent Left wing thuggery.

I lost enormous respect for the guy, and everything he's been doing since then has only cemented my opinion.

I don't care how much of a "Constitutional conservative" someone claims to be, Ted Cruz started looking and acting more and more like a stereotypical, slimy politician.

There's a lot that could be said, but anyone who is intellectually honest has been through the process at this point.

The point is, it's not simply that Ted Cruz hasn't been accepted by the GOP voters, in fact he has been positively rejected by them.

Donald Trump has received over 3 million votes than Ted Cruz.

The American people, the GOP voters, and the party elites all know exactly who deserves this nomination. And that's who's going to get it.

And it will not be Ted Cruz.

Vote Trump

I see it as just the opposite. January, and the dirty tricks in IA, sealed St. Ted’s doom. And it is NEVER about who is the most “doctrinaire,” or who is purest. It is about who can actually get things done that we want done. When the history of this campaign is written, yes, January will be the turning point, but for what Cruz did, not what Trump did.

Cruz is not really a conservative champion. He is a Bush administration guy who found another government job.

He is a career government employee. He ought to return to his day job.

Trump and the rest used tried and true socialistic techniques to destroy Cruz. Stalin would be proud. As well, clear back in 2012 after the Romney disaster I swore to myself that I would never again vote for a idiot of a loser for president again. I am sticking to my promise to myself.

A hundred percent conservative don't sponsor an increase of 500% of H-1B visas. That is just one example.
