Example of manspreading on the Stockholm Metro Manspreading, or man-sitting, is the practice of sitting in public transport with legs wide apart, thereby covering more than one seat. Both this posture and usage of the term "manspreading" have caused some internet criticism, and debates in the USA, UK, Turkey, and Canada.[3][4] The term first appeared in public debate when a feminist anti-manspreading campaign was started on the social media website Tumblr in 2013.[citation needed] The Oxford English Dictionary added it as a word in August 2015.
Historical Perspective
Although the term is 21st Century neologism, the concern about seating posture impeding space availability for others is hardly new.
The earliest recorded instance of public commentary on this appears to arise from the "Omnibus Laws" of 19th Century London[13]in respect of early horse-drawn buses, and intended to make travel more enjoyablewhich included: "Law 5 Sit with your limbs straight, and do not with your legs describe an angle of 45, thereby occupying the room of two persons"

This is the first picture of Cruz I ever saw where he looks pretty.
Are we entirely sure that DC and COngress isnt just one big bath-house foam party?? (thats rhetorical!)
Yay- another ‘Cruz is aN A$@#$hole’ thread- this time he’s apparently an A$##$hole for holding his leg across his knee and sitting with a friend-

Just call me June Cleaver - but all I see in that
Cruz picture is Eddie Haskell...
I have a theory about that very thing. Maybe that is how the Kingmakers control the House and Senate, White House & courts. They pick, groom and place in office the most compromised fiends, perverts, liars, cheats, drug addicts, pedophiles etc., among us and blackmail them into doing their bidding. It’s just how they do things up on the hill.
I guess one would call it a sure bet.
Yeah because it’s not like the people of texas voted for him or anything-
Yes, they are owned.
Many think of San Francisco as the “gayest city” in America but I’d bet a higher percentage of DC residents are.
No, we can’t.
Yep, if they haven’t got the goods on them, they’re not deemed worthy of their support. How else to control their votes and positions?
A bit of a coquette.
If one of you could produce a photograph with all four of the boys seated together, that would be real fun, if not newsworthy.

Yes! Why can’t we go back to the old days when politicians understood that sitting on couches with other males meant that they were homosexuals and not qualified for public office?
I rarely ever see that. What I do see a lot though is "purse occupying."
This is the practice of a woman placing her oversized purse or large hand bag in the seat next to her. This especially happens on the Metro North commuter trains where women habitually fill up the seat next to them with their purses, coats, umbrellas and whatnot while the men usually stash their bags in the overheads, leaving the seat next to them open. I almost never see a woman put anything in the overhead. When she is shamed into giving up the empty seat, she will take her stuff and transfer it to her lap or on the floor in front of her (and will usually not be happy about it at all).
