I think the days of boycott effectiveness have passed unless they are quick, massive, and unanimous. Boycotts have to overwhelm if they are going to get the attention of something as slow and massive as a multinational. Conditions have changed a lot in the fifty or so years since the last really successful boycott. I disagree. Outlandish actions as this provide a helpful opportunity for Christians to rally, and make a statement, which unity has been missing and needs to increase. The alternative is to do what? More of the same? And 1 million people by just one ministry is relatively impressive.

They definitely did that part right. One petition at one source with lots of individual messages asking people to sign. The internet works for these sorts of campaigns when they can be successful.
