There's a limited pool of VP candidates to choose from. Normally, candidates pick someone who does not agree with them up and down the line. McCain and Palin had their differences, Reagan and Bush had their differences, Reagan and Schweiker CERTAINLY had their differences. I guarantee you that Trump as nominee will pick someone who has numerous different opinions.

None of these different candidates made Reagan or McCain different men. The decision was political. Trump does not do well among women, neither does Cruz. Cruz picked Fiorina in order to improve his standing with women voters, and also to exploit her California connection before the primary. Whomever Trump chooses will include political considerations.

I have never been a Fiorina fan, but ANY pick that Cruz would make would make someone dissatisfied. She does know what Planned Parenthood is all about, and not everyone does.
