It is the second time in six years the tower has been fired on in error by F-16 jets

This is my aircraft, this is the gun.
This is for flying, this is for fun.
Negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.
OK you better duck then
Oh yeah? I'll show you full ...
What pilot has not wanted to do that ?
Whoopsie!
If the island is uninhabited, why are folks in the control tower?
That is EXACTLY what I was thinking.
Scary.
Nothing like an A-10 30mm wake-up call.
The F-16 20mm pop-gun is just noise. . . .
;-)
I hate when a F-16 mistakenly attacks me.
You lost that loving feeling, didn’t you?
I wonder if the pilot is a recent immigrant from “Asia”
Own goal!
Could be worse, could have been a school shooting.

I did some work in the infield of a runway down in Maryland. Two A-10’s would fly out of there for training. I was a little too close to the asphalt of an unused taxiway one time and a guy came out and told me not to be so close in the morning.
“Well, they don’t use it as a taxiway - but you see that marker way down there? Every morning they check their sights on that marker. Not that it’s ever happened, but it would mess up your day if their gun went off the one day you were here.”
The second (and last) day I was out at the site I was standing on top of the work van taking some overview photos of the site. The two A-10’s came in for a landing. But came over me at VERY low altitude before circling around and landing on another runway.
I just grinned as they were coming in and thinking to myself “Well - I’m dead!”
The SUVs of the sky.
And if there are people on the island, it’s not uninhabited
Indeed!
Now I’m beginning to doubt whether it was even an island... probably a peninsula trying to slip by without us noticing!
