He had hip problems, so its conceivable he got hooked on painkillers.*********************
That seems very possible, if he did die of an overdose.

“And because of all those projects he completed but then refused to release...”
I was reading about his “house” where he lived and died. ($10 million, built in the 80’s or 90’s). It is also a concert/party venue and top notch recording studio. $10 parties open to the public at times! Hopefully he has a company that handles it all, and it will continue to serve the local musicians.
The article also talked about an area he called “The Vault” with all of his discarded stuff. Nobody was ever allowed in there. Hopefully his company also can make those available at some point.

An update (previously posted in, pinged to). Here's former alleged comedian Dick Gregory's take on it -- the plane Prince was on is owned by Warren Buffett. Oh, and Michael Jackson's estate had to sell the Beatles catalog (originally purchased in the 1970s from Apple Records assets for $12 million) for $2 billion because of "white supremacy". And Tupac was the first hologram.
