Exactly.

I’m amused by how some people are making such a big issue out of this. I suspect for a long time, passable cross dressers have been using women’s bathrooms. Those cross dressers who haven’t quite mastered the craft and still look like men generally don’t come out in public. In short, there is no need for new laws.

William Jennings Bryan in his famous “Cross of Gold” speech said:

“You shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold”

Now, what do we have?

“We shall not pollute our public bathrooms with cross dressers.”

This is the kind of wedge social issue that is substantively meaningless, but is used to tar conservatives stupid enough to make a big deal of it as intolerant.

Don’t play the game.

Tanya what a lot of people here don’t get. Living and working in DC I’ve met 4 transgendered people, and one lives across the street from me. Three of these people look like women, if you met them you would have no idea they were born male. Now, the one that lives across the street from me looks like a really unfortunate, manly, ugly woman...but she’s in a committed long term relationship.

I don’t think there’s a tsunami of poorly disguised cross dressing perverts breaking into women’s restrooms, with barely concealed facial stubble prancing between the stalls and accosting every woman they see. If there was, we probably would have seen at least one or two news stories on it. It’s just not happening. When a TG person uses the bathroom, most of the time no one knows.

So the law fixed a problem that doesn’t exist, caused a backlash against NC, and effectively accomplished nothing. Whether transgenderism is right or wrong I’m not making a comment on it. It’s just this whole argument is stupid.

“This is the kind of wedge social issue that is substantively meaningless,”

That’s a very shallow thought. First it’s homo weddings,
then it’s the perverted cross dressers. Whats next?
Open pedophilia? Erasing the age of sexual consent?
Exactly where do you intend on drawing the line on
these social perverted wedge issues?

Let’s get a little deeper. What about the abuse that is
going to occur with these meaningless wedge social issue.
Are you willing to accept male perverts dressing as women
in the restroom that little girls use?

I say it’s a big issue and anyone who supports it is about
as ungodly and unAmerican as you can get.
