I was going to say that, except to note that since 1940 we’ve split the atom and made big explosions. Arguably, however, things have been more stable, not less, as a result.

Arguably, however, things have been more stable, not less, as a result.

One time when I was in a feisty mood I actually spoke to the local Jehovah's Witnesses about the end times and used the argument that without nuclear weapons the US and Soviets would likely have already had WW III releasing every bit of poison gas and biological weapons they had in their arsenals. You could tell they were way off their script.

So far End Times prophets are running zero for several thousand with a few dozen still inconclusive.

I wonder how many End Times prophets would be willing to subject themselves to Deuteronomy 18:20-22?

20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
