It isn’t whether the note was humorous or truthful. The point is that people who serve the public are expected to do that and keep their opinions or jokes to themselves. If an employee wants to act like a smartass about what people consume, they need to find another kind of employment like becoming a food critic or a stand-up comic.

Absolutely! Customers may be space cadets, lunatics with tinfoil hats, or even liberals, but if I or any of the crew let on that we found that amusing, we would never get to bid another job-we’d be blackballed. It is called
“customer service”, and it seems it is no longer required of workers who deal with people...
