Landlords who bow to this pressure and rent to criminals will be sued by their other tenants when the criminals prey on them; the landlords will lose because they didn’t do their due diligence in screening prospective tenants...

I believe there are already laws in some states, whereby a property can be seized by the government if a tenant is dealing (even using) illegal drugs.

In which case, rock, meet hard place.

Great example; they can’t reconcile government-coerced erasure of bad history (with credit or crime) with the litigious atmosphere in this country...
