I was wondering about that. Wouldn’t the baby need to be infected to “turn”?
In the other hand, a fetus lacks teett, sharp nails, and muscle tone, so I'm not sure there's much it could do anyway. And it may even continue to draw sustenance from the mother and so not really even try to attack.
