Just listened to that whole Tuscaloosa show from 5/17/77. They were on their game that day. Impressive versions of Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo, Brown-eyed Women, Terrapin, Tennessee Jed, and a few others. Unfortunately most the audience chatter between songs was edited out, so I didn’t get to hear your request for I Know You Rider.

I think they opened with half step....

Man they played about everything that night

I saw them in Baton Rouge .....their first time in Louisiana since the French quarter bust....not as good a show

I also saw them in Jackson MS arts festival with a small crowd

BeBop the local productions outfit and record store chain owned by Drake Elder just had to have them play Jackson and even with just the festival floor full they played a very heartfelt show till the Fire Marshall shut them down around 2am and then went home with the local production brass to an all night party jam out at the resevoir....groupies for Bobby Weir of course

The sound was awful in Jackson but the band knew folks around there also knew it was the one and only time in fairly small Jackson Miss the Dead would ever play there

We were really happy with that one....

I saw them at the Fox in Atlanta around then too

My concert interest in the Dead sorta petered out after that

Around here the band that draws like that is Panic
