Being an elder in a pretty conservative evangelical church, I am reluctant to criticize pastors. However, a few things bear mentioning: 1) Max made this announcement just prior to Super Tuesday - Maximizing media attention to Max (I assure you that his book and other sales spiked shortly thereafter). 2) By comparison to other ministers of the Gospel, Max is quite wealthy - the Gospel has been profitable for him. To be sure some are wealthier, but Max is definitely part of the .1%. 3) Max is quite willing to make voting for a political candidate he dislikes a litmus test for genuine Christian faith - he had no such objections to Bill Clinton, Obama, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders who are vigorously anti-Christian.
Pardon me if I ignore Max or anyone who wants to use his opinion to lend authority to their own candidate preferences.
I wonder what Max might have said about Andrew Jackson? I think Trump is a lot like him (but with a far different set of great accomplishments).
Max Lucado doesn’t pass the “sound doctine” test, which is a much bigger deal.

There is a really strange movement around Cruz - Barton, Beck, now Lucado, and others in religious circles. I question their judgement.

He has significant control issues with his offspring. If Max hasn't taught his daughters how to tell the difference between boys who are to be trusted and boys who are not to be trusted by the time they have reached the age of 16 or 17, he needs to keep them safely at home and locked in their rooms.

I have watched the professional politicians and the MSM up on their high horses like pompous asses about Trump’s salty language. I bet der Hildebeast let’s every expletive in the book fly along with a few lamp stands. Maybe she even flys a broom or two.
It was interesting to watch the Golden Globe Awards in 2015, to watch the language go down to the gutter. It was to the delight of movie world all dressed in their finest at the pinnacle of their careers. The words, of course, were edited out, but there were so many sound breaks, I thought my cable box was losing sound.
I bet Max Lucado watched that broadcast with, maybe, one of his three daughters on his lap. He probably blamed the sound problems on his cable box, as he rooted for his favorite movie to win an Oscar. Many of those movies would have had worse than what Trump has said by spades. Maybe he is showing his daughters the definition of a pompous ass—something to avoid if they want to marry a decent man.
No, Max Lucado knows that Trumps battle technique will be the thing that combats what he knows will be the DemonRAT playbook. He knows Trump will trump the Alinsky Method that goes into the gutter to denigrate its targets with a perfected system long used by the DemonRATs. And, that my FRiends is not just sausage making.
