In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
defenestration [dee fen ih STRAY shun]
noun
Literally, to throw a person out a window.
A SEARCH of FR reveals EVENINGSTAR's post of 7/25/2012, Defenestration - Merriam-Webster Ask the Editor. Technically it has not been a WFTD, though it is not unknown to FR bards. The link is an interesting YOUTUBE presentation by MIRIAM WEBSTER, youtube.com
Brian Goggins restoring the defenestration building (San Francisco),
Probably just a longer drop.
Ahh, the longest plop.
You referred to “EST.”
Just being a little pedantic.
Yep.
"Out you two pixies go, tru' da door or defenestration!"
One more time we all must watch, “It’s a Wonderful Life” and remember....
Done with work for the day-and tomorrow I should be done for the week, including getting paid-
When there’s a terrorist attack
In a civilized western nation
It brings out people worthy
Of political defenestration
Those who drone and lecture-
Such as Kerry and Hillary too
Or Kasich-love for everyone-
He says that’s the thing to do
Those who insist this is a war
Are right in giving it a name
A leader should be kicking ass-
Not with Castro at some game...
I heard the terrorist in Belgium who made the bombs for the attack is the same one who made the bombs used in the Paris attack, too-hiding in plain sight in the same neighborhood, and not one neighbor dropping the dime on him in all this time-just like the neighbors and family of the San Bernardino terrorists-that is wrong and evil in more ways than I can name. I’m glad that both bomb makers are dead....
I wouldn’t say “just like” the ones in San Bernardino.
Presenting the Assam Valley Literary Award:
True-when the friends and relatives in San Bernardino realized they were facing hard time, they gave up Mr. and Mrs. Jihadi-I haven’t heard that anyone in that Belgium neighborhood did that...
Thank you!
The Assam Valley area was shown on an episode of science channel a few weeks ago-it is exotic-almost like a place in a work of fiction...
