Nice of the article to misrepresent the criticism of Ted Cruz. The actual comment at issue, left out of the article is:

So yes, sure. Cruz doesn’t use the words “Donald Trump is to blame”, but the fact that in the wake of a terrible incident like this, he said Donald Trump’s name a bunch of times and also implicated that somehow, support for NATO will stop idiotic open borders policies of Europe letting in ISIS does mean that he’s a desperate moron and has no principles whatsoever.

But you are so smart you know that is what he meant, because Trump must be protected, and the best way to do that is to lie about Cruz.
