Elizabeth I was indeed related to Richard the Third. Her grandfather was Edward the Fourth, Richard’s brother. But no actual person by the name Plantagenet survived Henry 8th.

I was wrong. Her GREAT grandfather was Edward IV. Her grandfather on her father’s side was Henry VII, the first of the Tudor dynasty. Richard III would have been Elizabeth’s great grand-uncle through the line of her grandmother, Elizabeth of York.
