Glock is a funny company. They’ve refused to put external safeties on before when a large order was dangled. They’d probably do so again.

John Browning hated the idea of the grip safety on his 1911 but needed to make the US government sale. When he built the gun the way HE wanted to, it was the Browning Hi-Power with NO grip safety.

A friend bought a South American licensed knockoff of the 1911. It was identical (and in fact licensed by colt or browning) except no grip safety.

I often toyed with the idea of getting a Hi-Power....only a newer .40 S&W chambered gun. A good compromise caliber.
