Exactly correct. One African tribe raided others for slaves and Arab slave traders also raided African tribes. The African tribes sold their slave to European slave traders.

The Europeans did NOT have a monopoly on slaves. Slavery had been well established world wide since before recorded history. Slavery was NOT peculiar to what became the United States, contrary to what young skulls full of mush are told about black history. Moreover, slavery in the American colonies was actually traced back to ex-black slave Anthony Johnson. This is another fact NOT taught.
