I’m OK with keeping already domesticated animals and eating their products as long as they don’t suffer. The suffering their wild ancestors endured has already been done and cannot be erased. It took an untold amount of forced breeding and culling to create the domestic animals we have today.

I’m even OK with domesticating new animals for doing WORK when existing domesticated animals cannot do the job. i.e. bomb sniffing, search/rescue, etc

*BUT* I don’t agree with making generations of new animals suffer so their lives can be used purely as entertainment. It’s unnecessary and we have enough entertainment on this planet without making living things suffer...

Animals in the wild kill each other and get eaten by other animals. Is that better than a life in a zoo?

My dog would not survive 4 days in the wild.

Do you eat animals?

There is a theory that dogs domesticated humans. The 'weak' wolves discovered that humans would feed them and care for them if they showed affection. They became dogs.
