for animals to be left alone in the wild, the environment
where they belong. Have visited zoos all my life; but
seeing big cats caged & becoming mentally unbalanced by
the confinement is sad to me.”
Yep, Never liked zoos and animal shows for that reason. The animals all seem depressed and ragged.
The only zoo I enjoyed was the Monkey Jungle in Florida. The Monkeys get a huge natural habitat and the humans watch them from small cages
About the worst I’ve ever felt for an animal was for a
circus elephant who died a long time ago. Circus had set
up in a small town in our state many, many years ago.
Of course, the elephants had to work very hard helping
in set-up. Then the circus paraded down the main street.
It was very hot that day. - One of the elephants spotted
a sliced watermelon on a table on the sidewalk. It just
went berserk, was so thirsty, hot & probably hungry.
It (accidentally I would guess) trampled a man on the
street. - Well, it was tried, convicted, and a special
hanging apparatus was constructed in order to “execute”
it for its “crime”. . and, so, it was hanged and killed.
- I probably should not tell that story; but I hope &
pray it is in a better place than this realm now. I
love elephants. Animals are generally better than a lot
of humans I’ve seen. :o(
