Carson: 'We’re only looking at four years’ if Trump’s a bust
The Hill ^ | 3-14-2016 | Mark Hensch

Posted on 03/14/2016 9:24:37 PM PDT by Citizen Zed

“The way I look at it, even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president – which I don’t think is the case, I think he’s going to surround himself with really good people – but even if he didn’t, we’re only looking at four years,” the former GOP presidential candidate said on Newsmax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show." "[That’s] opposed to multiple generations and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever.”

“If we go to a system where we have a brokered convention or something that thwarts the will of the people, the Republican Party will be so fractured that there is no way, I don’t care who you put in there, that we’re going to win,” he said of the GOP presidential convention in Cleveland in July. "Not only are we not going to win the presidency, but we’re probably going to lose the Senate.

“Now we’re going to have a situation where the progressives get two to four more Supreme Courts and we will have lost big time,” the retired neurosurgeon added. "The reason that I’m choosing Trump is that I’m a big picture guy. I recognize that he’s bringing in a lot of people who were not interested in coming in before.”

And you think a Democrat wouldn’t win after a Republican has an unsuccessful term? We’d need a supernova of a miracle if that were to happen! Sure, the wall might be built, but that great big door that Trump talks about will be flung wide open by a Pres. Elizabeth Warren or Pres. Michelle Obama. (horrifying, I know, but all too possible).

I’m voting for Cruz today, because I think he has the fortitude to do the job when all the cheers and applause dies down and when the drumbeat of criticism from all angles starts. I’m not sure Trump does. If he is the nominee, I will vote for him to keep a socialist out of the White House, even if it’s only for one term.

Any lazy Republicans who "stay home" this November due to a personal temper tantrum are completely disingenuous.

Personally, I would take honor and pride in helping to build it.

If he put out a call, for volunteers to build the wall, there would be no shortage of people who would want to be a part of it.

That'd be something you could tell your grandkids.

Yep, I built that damn wall.

For 10 points who was the last president we had that was going to bring all his private business and industry knowledge to Washington to fix the country?

Does it rhyme with chit ?

Trump/Carson - The 'no filter' platform.

Refreshing after 8 years of "the most transparent administration ever".....

I’ve said the same thing here to those who don’t trust Trump.

Do WE really want a presidential election between two long-time liberals from NY?

Only one of them is sleeping with a Muslim Brotherhood conduit, however. The other one has a hot model wife who is smart and stays out of the politcal side of things.

Just be happy she is bathing and shampooing again for her campaign. The daily hygiene ends when the campaign ends.

Carson is talking stragety, long-term forecasting, the best case and worst case, and what can logically happen. Something most Republicans are completely tone-deaf to the minute they get in office. That includes several of our current candidates.
