Maybe but he doesn't want to put the time and effort in to be a great or even a good quarterback.

NO, why did you have to put that back in my mind!!

See post 7. He may have meant the Browns but it is not what he said

Misery? He appears to be having a great time.
Just my opinion, but I tend to think the kid is suicidal. I also think he has a mental illness that has only been reinforced by a lifetime of everybody telling him how great he is.

I hear Tim Tebow is available. At least they would know he wouldn’t get in trouble.

Newton is special. 6’7 255. He can do what he wants because he is a freak of nature, like Godzilla. But I am right among human quarterbacks.

Who would want to be a quarterback on the Broncos? No matter what you do, you know that Elway will not have your back.
What makes you say that?

1957- Detroit Lions w/Bobby Layne at QB. The last time Detroit won it all. If you don't remember who Bobby Layne was or what he was like off the field... From Wikipedia: "He would drink six days a week and play football on Sunday"; but his heavy drinking may have contributed to his death. Layne is reported to have stated: "If I'd known I was gonna live this long, I'd have taken a lot better care of myself."

Poor management definitely contributed. He should have been given the position of his job to lose rather than place a journeyman loser ahead of him. Manzeil would have had more focus on the job if he wasn’t wallowing on the bench. A champion would have gotten 100% focus anyway, but a guy with his issues took that situation and made the worst of it.
I actually defended him for a long time, and frankly when he did get on the field he showed some potential. Not great, but rookie quality plays. In the end, he did himself in with really, really poor decisions. Hopefully, he gets it together. I found myself rooting for him up until this past November/December.

Everybody makes mistakes.
But some folks have an entire crew to tell us why is wasn't a mistake.

With the money he has already received, a more humble person could live the rest of their days quite well off. Yep. But one with a serious alcohol and coke habit can burn through it in no time at all. If the money doesn't give out before the body does, well, we've read that story way too many times before.
To: Nifster
Show me how it is ridiculous. I think Elway’s behavior towards his QB is ridiculous.

The Browns won a Super Bowl in January?
Not even the Broncos won a Super Bowl in January!
To: Nifster
You seriously think the Browns won the Super Bowl?
To: Nifster
The earlier post was not meant to refer to Denver.
But as it goes, I don't think Elway treated either Manning or Osweiler fairly. And I'm not a particular fan of either.
But I don't think Denver did too bad. I think it would have been a mistake to pay Osweiler a lot.

Dude.
That name.
Only the kicker who shall not be named is a worse memory.

He wasn't called "Broadway Joe" Namath because he loved the theatre.

He was a good but not great QB in the NFL. May have been picked a bit early but was definite 1st round talent.
83 was in a way the “Hissyfit qb draft” Elway would not play where he was drafted and threatened baseball and Kelly held out and went to USFL. Its possible the Blackledge was seen as good and not a probable personnel issue.
That Kenny had his best year that same year and the KC offence was tailored to his style instead of Blackledge probably did not help much either as Kenny got hurt a lot.

lest we forget he did help (in great measure ) to end the USFL. He wanted to go head to head against the NFL (and I would guess try to force a deal to merge.. ) but instead he made the cost of doing business for the other owners so high the league ended.
