Both of those polls were done all or mostly before the last debate. The CBS poll has one day after the debate, and it was 4 points lower than the NBC poll. Different methodologies, or the start of a trend? We won’t know until Tuesday.
But it is worth noting that Trump has underperformed the polls consistently.

To win the election the independents and blue collar Democrats are essential. A Republican base only cannot win the general election.
