Really? Are you a “severe” conservative?

I see you brought your disdain for “true conservatives” along with you as your bona fides..

I got new for you n00b, Cruz is no TRUE conservative either.

And if you read what he wrote, he was not showing disdain for conservatives, quite the contrary.

the only reason Trump wants to become President is so he can be that real estate developer?

You are delusional. There are actual laws against this, and sometimes the laws are enforced, especially against Republicans. To do so would be a felony, a high crime for which he could be impeached. But worse, he would overnight lose the support of everyone who backed him if he tried something like that. It would be Trump's blue stained dress only a whole lot worse.

Ted’s tent preacher theatrics are a turnoff to me too, and I’m Christian. There have been so many “devout” frauds over the years that when a guy shows up on the national scene touting his own piety and moral superiority, my first reaction is to cringe.

I think this is true and there's something else too. Almost all politicians publicly try to polish themselves so they don't expose (they think) any weakness in character or ideas. Everyone KNOWS that politicians certainly aren't the same in public life as they are in private life. It's an image they've crafted that they present to the public.

But with Trump you get the impression that he's essentially the same guy wherever he is. He seems genuine. And that's likely one of the key secrets to his success. It's the guiding mantra of his campaign..."Let Trump be Trump."

Yeesh, did you even think about that before you posted it?
It was a joke, but I guess it was too subtle for the Trump cultists.

Remember, Trump's "Yuge Wall" (which Trump admitted this week was "negotiable") is going to have a "Yuge Gate" in it, through which the illegal immigrants will be allowed to return as soon as they have "touched-back" in their home country (according to Trump).

no one is as vulgar as Trump the Clown

No one was more vulgar in high public office than one Lyndon Baines Johnson.

" An elitist is a person who believes that a society or system should be lead by an elite.

Only a "true" conservative is able to select a proper justice for the supreme court.

Only a "true" conservative can come up with the right plan to rein in the federal bureaucracy.

Only a "true" conservative can fix the health care system.

The list goes on and on.

His demeanor suggests that only he, a "true" conservative, can properly lead, or is fit to lead our country out of the problems we currently face. "

So true.

Ted Cruz is an elitist conservative. There are many conservatives out here who are secular, or gay, or lesbian, or even atheist. And we don't like to be preached to and proselytized.

I think this article hits on the true reason but was ashamed to actually admit it as foremost. Many so-called conservatives have become secular to the point of hating those that proclaim to be true Christians. That said, many that claim to be Christian are In Name only. CINOs like Trump that can't name a single Bible verse.

Trump is the push for secularism in the GOP, the turning away from God in America.

You guys claiming the right to define who are "true conservatives" are a dwindling breed. You certainly are not Russell Kirk conservatives. I don't think you are conservative at all, just a bunch of bitter twisted folks hoping to be able to get control of government so you can tell the rest of us what to do.

Regardless, y'all should search your souls [soles?] because you are driving yourselves to extinction.

In private, perhaps. He certainly wasn't as vulgar as Trump is in public.

Trump has had stump speeches which were unsuitable for children. As for his other public appearances, such as his appearances on the Howard Stern show, demonstrate that he's nothing more than a clown.

15 year old girl watching Ted Cruz on TV: “He’s creepy-looking.”

He has the raw material: but he has to smile, open his eyes, and let his temples go grey.

Besides, he needs a Bogel for the Glotch.

That’s a pretty good point—nicely done.

Also, Ted not only has the nationally-toxic demeanor of a televangelist, but he also gets his biggest funding from a pair of Christian-sect religion-first big donors—and so panders in that direction.

Most Evangelists today want a president who appears sufficiently committed to defending their religious interests—without requiring a strict litmus/purity test on the issue. They see fundamental problems with the country, and Trump sufficiently reassures them as to protecting their religious interests while inspiring far greater confidence in his ability and interest to address economic problems as well.

A lot was made of Trump ‘not disavowing’ the KKK David Duke.

Cruz should be hounded to disavow Glenn Beck for his threat to kill Trump.

If multi-billionaire Donald Trump isn’t “elite” then who is?

One of my concerns, although I too will vote for the nominee whomever it is, is that Trump is just another roadblock thrown up when a real change artist like Cruz comes along and that with Donald the status quo survives.

Hey jackass, I'm a Cruz and or Trump supporter.
From the "jackass", I suspect you lean towards Trump.

Also, how can you support both when Trump is claiming that Cruz is ineligible? Either Trump is a lying jackass (and unsuitable for the office) or he's right and Cruz is ineligible.

Which is it? You can't have it both ways.

Standard Trump tactic, to insult someone's appearance when you can't support your positions.

It's sleazy, but that's par for the course with the Trump Chumps.
