Assuming that the Scalia seat is not filled by Senate surrender to Obozo, the next sixteen years should certainly see the end of the tenures of Anthony Kennedy, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Stephen Breyer, Clarence Thomas and, from the looks of her and how she has porked up, Sonya Sotomayor. Of the current court, only Chief Justice Roberts and Associate Justices Alito and Kagan are likely to still be there in sixteen years.

A Republican candidate who will not vow a blood oath to stack each and every vacancy with young (still in their 40s preferably) absolute hardliners with track records is not fit to be nominated. This is a sixteen year golden window of opportunity to deal with SCOTUS once and for all. The same standard should apply to the Circuit Courts of Appeal and Federal Trial Bench appointments. The lower courts are important in their own right and as feeders to the higher courts. How many times are conservative social issue initiatives stifled by imperial judges who strike down laws restricting abortion with impunity, act as enemies of religion and religious freedom in public life, thwart the punishment of criminals (they keep Charlie Manson and Sirhan Sirhan alive for 40-50 years by arbitrary judicial fiat, inventing constitutional "rights" as they go along. If people are voting for Donald Trump because they are rightly fed up with the force-feeding of political correctness down the throats of every American, they should remember that PC is a very fertile source of judicial tyranny.

I prefer a Cruz/Walker ticket BUT will be far more amenable to Trump/Cruz with adequate assurances that Ted Cruz picks the judges. It is his field of expertise. Governor Greg Abbot would be trusted to appoint a suitable new senatorial replacement. Eventually, Cruz could be appointed to SCOTUS.

Any Senate appointment in TX is good only for six months. A special election is required within six months.

Nice comments to consider, thanks for your work on that.

He can pick whomever he wants but there are enough traitor GOPe in the Senate to thwart any real constitutional conservative. Besides I predict if Cruz is the nominee we will lose the Senate.
