To: Right-wing Librarian
Sometimes it’s the most unusual stuff that makes a lasting impression upon the electorate...sometimes the average voter bases their vote on this kind of thing. They just don’t care enough to delve into politics all that much, so superficial things do end up making a difference.... What is seen can not be unseen, unfortunately. It’s just a major gross out.

One thing I really miss about my life before the 1970s when the so-called Youth Rebellion and Sexual Revolution took over, is the widespread use of manners and etiquette. Today's young people probably think it's laughable; but there used to be many books available about proper and polite behavior, that saved many a social relationship.

In this case, one should cover one's mouth momentarily with a handkerchief to dispose of the stray ort.

Yes, we sure were a more polite society. I remember entering my library profession in the 1970’s and seeing older books on etiquette, manners, etc.

They say things come full circle. Observing our culture today makes me think we may be at the end of the filth era and ready for civility.
