Guess what happened when Trump didn’t disavow to Tapper?
This was the main media story from then to super tuesday. Cruz and Rubio got some mention but not nearly as much as they may have without the KKK story. Or, I should say “non-story” since even the media brought up how Trump had disavowed for 2 days before every time they talked about it. They have to be fair to him and admit it’s a non-story or he kills them even more in speeches and twitter.
Maybe it was an earpiece malfunction and luck. But once again Trump had the media talking about him instead of his opponents or issues and a story where the voters said “who cares - he disavowed friday so what’s the story”. At some point it stops looking like luck and looks like Trump knows how to play the media - probably the single most important asset for an R running against Hillary.
It caused my sister to rethink her vote for him in VA. May have shoved her to Rubio, don't know. I said I'd heard him disavow and disavow, but she didn't like his answer that once, and it troubled her.
I so don't trust the press. As for Trump, didn't he push for Jews and Blacks to be admitted to exclusive clubs in FL — long before he was running for president? Doesn't pass the sniff test.
