“consistent conservatism” SHOULD translate to “better economy and some jobs for us” in the voters’ minds

We’ve voted for “consistent conservatives” the last several election cycles and have gotten doodley-squat for it.
Those words have little meaning anymore outside of venues such as Free Republic.
IMO, Cruz went a bit overboard trying to woo the Evangelicals while ignoring the bigger picture.
