In the end, for some it's never been about the country, or their families or even the future of their grandchildren. It's about them.

It's about people getting what they want for themselves and they cloak it in religion or some sanctimonious sense that they know better and are better than anybody else.

Therefore, if they don't get their way, well... everybody else - including their own future flesh and blood - can just go to hell. And that is the best as I can put it.

You know, some people would starve their own children to death and long as they could starve their enemies along with them.
