You are using dem logic. Remember we are attempting to break the one party strangle hold on our country. Trump is not part of Washington. He is a very strong man. No big money donors to force their ways on the man. Cruz and Rubio not eligible to be President. A vote for Cruz will be another twofer, (his wife of Golman Sachs) has aspirations for higher office like hill and Bill. No more. No more. Rubio is a liar and a danger to the country. Cruz thinks he is God. And we mistreat Christian sports players all the time. Look at Tbow and others from our sporting past that we humiliate because of religion. How is Cruz different.
tRump is nothing but a con man.
Maybe that's your goal, but I don't think there is a "one party stranglehold", no matter how much that phrase may be accepted by some others. Frankly, I think that whole theme is a pretty juvenile, facile analysis. Probably doesn't even qualify as analysis at all.
The real problem is a divided government and lack of national consensus as to how to proceed. Not a "uniparty". You have conservatives who want to go one direction, progressives who want to go another, and the squishy moderates who believe in "fixers", not in principle. And as long as that divide exists, all that's really going to happen is a bunch of compromises to keep things running that are going to piss off everybody.
Breaking that gridlock by destroying one of those parties does nothing but hand victory to the other. That's what you guys are advocating, and it is insanity. This election presented a chance for Republicans to win control of both Congress and the White House, and finally be able to actually reverse some of the damage Obama has done. All the stuff Republicans have been complaining about that wasn't happening because Obama controlled the White House, might have finally happened.
Instead, we get a populist temper tantrum to "destroy the GOP-E". Great timing, guys. But guess what? Nominating The Donald isn't going to make Maine or Illinois any more likely to elect non-moderate Republicans. And there is no party, structure or slate of candidates that The Donald is bringing to replace them -- it's just a cult of personality personal to him. That's just the electoral reality of the country.
So you guys can scream all you want about getting the RINO's out of Congress and destroying the Uniparty, but the net effect of that is going to be to give more power to Democrats. While you're tearing down the only organized opposition to the Democrats, they'll inevitably rally around their crummy candidate and Senate hopefuls, and kick our butts. Well, the rest of us apparently have failed to stop the lemmings from jumping off the cliff after their leader. Just don't expect the rest of us to follow.
