Most uber drivers don’t have to pay those fees.

Bingo! I heard a story on news radio yesterday driving home from work where Newark (NJ) Mayor, Ras Baraka, is cracking down on Uber drivers picking up fares from Newark Airport & Penn Station.

In a touch of irony, they interviewed a medallion cab driver who said that since they had to comply with registration paperwork and go through the process, it was only fair that Uber drivers do the same. It would've been nice if the reporter asked the cab driver (who had an "urban" dialect and most surely voted with the Dims) if he felt the same way about voter registration &/or immigration!
