I think the people who don't remember the carnage from the seat-belt-optional days are more likely to screw up. They trust the air bags to protect them, ignoring the critical word "supplemental".
Heck, I installed 3-point belts in my '65 Mustang. Need all the help I can get, that steering wheel and column aren't designed to collapse like in newer cars.
