Cruz hurt Cruz......his lack of integrity in handling the Carson ‘gossip’ in Iowa showed extremely poor judgment

Cruz apologized at the first opportunity. Given the CNN report, almost anyone, myself included, would have concluded Carson was quitting. In the fog of war, I too would have told caucus goers to not waste their vote on Carson, but to vote for Cruz.
It is hardly “slimey” and Cruz didn’t “lie” about it. That Trump and Rubio have gotten away with making Cruz out to be a “liar” and nasty guy, is only because the mainstream press wants this meme to stain Cruz and take him out.
I obviously Stand With Ted, but I don’t think these observations are crazily biased. Just my opinion, though.

There’s that. And then there’s his off putting speaking voice which is a cross of Sunday morning preacher and a poor attempt at imitating President Reagan. He does not come off as genuine.
That wasn't a big deal. Carson was finished and everyone paying attention knew it. The "voter violation" mailer was the big unforced error there.
But even that wouldn't have amounted to much if Cruz had what it takes to win. Trump makes bigger mistakes than Cruz at least once a week but he slides right past them. Voters will forgive a lot if you've got the right stuff.
If you don't, forget about it. I asked before for one example of Cruz having a great moment in the debates, something on par with Christie's takedown of the Rubot. Nothing. Cruz doesn't have it.

Apparently, Cruz- or, more likely, one of his campaign staff, made a Facebook page- allegedly by Trey Gowdy, saying that he (Gowdy) made a mistake in endorsing Rubio & that he is withdrawing that support, so vote for Cruz instead because he’s endorsing him now.
Gowdy is livid.

I liked the guy’s supposed principles...but he has never convinced me of his honesty.
Trump may say stuff that I cringe at....but I believe the man is brutally honest. Cruz is not. Nor is Rubio. They both come across as saying what they think is going to win them votes....aka what their ‘handlers’ have told them to say.
I hope Trump does win big. Time to shake up the establishment. I can’t stand these career, lying politicians.
Cruz had a shot at taking this...but he blew it with his dishonesty and tactics. Can’t stand the guy at this point.
