Cruz was correct on the waterboarding question. President Bush authorized its use since it wasn’t included in the Field Manual (FM) for interrogations of the enemy and its use required special training.
SEER school used it.
But Cruz wasn’t right. It was a matter of trust with him.
I’d trust a captain on the ground more than a politician in DC on such a thing.
Alan West made a prisoner believe he’d get shot if he kept clammed up about vital information to lives of West’s battalion. He was kicked out of the army for it, but he was right.
I would put waterboarding in his hands in a heartbeat.
