A man can dream.

It really could happen.

Or rather, Bernie could beat Hillary in the primaries. But then the party would try to block him at the convention.

You might get your wish after the people have spoken — the two insurgents’ insurgency candidates. Would be an intriguing match: unbridled Communism vs. unbridled Capitalism.

Yuuge.

Be careful what you wish for. Bernie is a true believer in socialism governmentism.
Trump is not a true believer in freedom - at least, I am not confident that he could articulate why if he is.
In the Paleolithic Era when I was a HS senior, a Civics teacher abused his position by assigning a homework question the answer he expected to which depended on the socialist assumption that “society” and “goverment” were the same thing. I was sure that he was wrong, but could not then articulate specifically why. It was the Clinton era, when FReeping, that I learned that Thomas Paine had dispatched that canard in Common Sense back in 1776:
SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one . . .

I, Pencil is an article written in 1958 by Leonard E. Read. It detailed much of the diverse inputs which go into making pencils and the inputs into producing those inputs, and the machines they require, and so on. The upshot of which is actually, tho the article did not use the term, that society and not Eberhard Faber alone makes the pencil.

Society, not government. If Bernie says, “You didn’t build that,” would Trump reply that to the extent, which is real, that no one does anything (other than, say, derive the General Theory of Relativity) alone, it is society and not the government which deserves that credit? I have no confidence.

Versus. Clinton, I would have confidence in Trump to throw Hillary completely off her game. There is an ineluctable “rock, paper, scissors” aspect to any political contest.
