(Ripnbang said w/a loaded log-truck in his eye :) )
Just sayin'...
...that have you ever noted that the ONLY person who really could get away with making a comment about "log in the eye" was the Original? (Jesus)
Everybody else (including me) -- as we might point to the log in somebody else's eye -- also has (at least) a log in our own!
IoW it's kinda like Jesus said:
"Contain your saliva-drenched spittin' comin' from your own mouth before you 'scuss others' occasional spray emitting from their 'verbalizin'."
Then, from then on, anybody who might ask, "How's that spittin' habit comin' along?" can't help but ask that question minus drenching the very person they are askin'!
Nobody has a saliva-free mouth, a log-free eye, to even ask the question...and when it's asked, it's as if they are living under the pretense that they alone are "log-free" 'nuff to get away w/asking it!
Bottom line: This is a pure vertical question from Jesus to us...It's not meant to be used in a horizontal way!
Negative, Ghost Rider. I already know there's a large log in my eye and but for the Grace of God go I. However, I won't question yours or anyone else's.
I have had 2 fine ministers who frequently used “log in the eye” example. Are you trying to now judge what people can repeat from then Bible?? You take a lot on yourself to judge that.
