Health Reform: ObamaCare was supposed to be on a roll by now, promising 20 million signing up, low cost and stable premiums. Turns out itâs on a roll all right. Itâs rolling towards the cliff.

From link (good info, charts at post):
The number signing up in 2016 will turn out to be not much more than the number who signed up last year after those who don't pay are netted out - no sizeable gain in enrollment has been accomplished on a national basis.
...... if you are solidly in the working and middle-class in this country individual health insurance on the state and federal exchanges is anything but affordable.
That is why the Urban Institute found that more than 80% of those earning between 100% and 150% of the federal poverty level (FPL) - the poor - signed up for Obamacare coverage in 2015 but only about 30% of those earning between 200% and 300% of the FPL signed up. Even worse, only about 14% of those earning between 300% and 400% of the FPL signed up in 2015.
After you have read this post, and done your own examination, please tell me how the Affordable Care Act is affordable.
At that point, neither you nor I should be surprised that Obamacare's enrollment has stalled out.
The Obamacare product just isn't worth buying if you have to pay anything more than a poor person has to pay for it. Or, if you are sick and will easily make your money back.
Most insurance companies are losing money today under Obamacare because not enough healthy people have signed up. They were hoping that the 2016 enrollment would change that. It has not.
This can't continue.
Sponge Bob Square Pants joins growing chorus about ObamaCare failing. Sponge Bob was quoted as saying "Who could have possibly seen this coming?" In other news Dr Peabody goes on the record describing climate change deniers as tantamount to "Little Eichmanns."
Insurance companies are the mortal enemies of Progressivism, because Insurance seeks to monetize the very heart of what Progressivism is trying to eliminate: Risk.
The Progressive Utopia is a society in which there is no risk of any bad outcome, until you face the death panel.
Seen through that lens, the whole banality of their evil comes to focus.
Thanks for reply. Looks like they gambled big in spite of all the signs pointing towards Democratic obsession with single payer.
They had no choice. Same as the auto companies with the 'bailout'.
Don't be fooled for a minute: These Progressives are authoritarian. They believe that they (and only they) can deliver Utopia. And they will use any means necessary to deliver it.
The young leftists love to wear their Che Guevara shirts.
They don't so much like to talk about his work at La Canbana prison...
United Health Care announced late last year that the were leaving health insurance in 2017
