We have a 96 and a 98 Cherokee, both with the straight 6. I welded in new flooring and rocker panels on both of them. The engines still have plenty of get up and go. One we use for plowing and hauling the other my wife uses almost all the time. About 600,000 miles driven between the two.

We had a 94 & a 98 Cherokee, but 2WD, both. I wish we still had the 94. Such a pretty Jeep (dark blue)
At that time, DH was putting crazy mileage on them for work, so we traded them about every 3 yrs.

My 90 had just over 16,000 miles when I sold in 2005. (I never drive) It looked almost new, too. The front windows had to be replaced, all new tires, & a water pump + I’d get everything serviced every time it was in sand, but that was it.
GREAT vehicle!

It had some weird thing with the oil pressure being unusually high that nobody could ever figure out, but no actual trouble.
