1. Wikipedia says: "The Iowa Caucus[1] is an electoral event in which residents of the U.S. state of Iowa meet in precinct caucuses in all of Iowa's 1,681 precincts and elect delegates to the corresponding county conventions."
2. Ted Cruz's ground game was said to be massive and the explanation for his victory. He had workers at all precincts.
3. Ted Cruz apologized for his workers spreading misinformation about Ben Carson dropping out of the race. Carson says this misinformation affected vote totals.
4. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/cnsnewscom-staff/iowa-cruz-278-trump-244-rubio-229-carson-93-paul-45
Cruz had 51,416--or 27.7 percent--of the votes.
Trump was second with 45,245 or 24.3 percent of the votes.
Rubio was third with 42,863 or 23.1 percent of the votes.
Dr. Ben Carson was fourth with 17,321 or 9.3 percent of the votes.
5. If each precinct has a caucus and there are 1681 precincts, as stated by point #1, then one vote lost per precinct to the misinformation campaign totaled 1681 votes possibly added to Cruz's total.
6. Since Cruz's lead was only 6200 votes, that would mean only about 4 vote changes per precinct.
7. This calls into question the size of Cruz's victory, the size of Carson's loss, and the number of delegates apportioned.
8. Question: Should that be acknowledge by the Republican Party in a public news release?

Irish: It is IRRELEVANT what we think. Ted Cruz ACTUALLY DID issue an apology. I can provide the link if you like.
When it comes out of the mouth of someone who is billed as a ‘principled Christian’, I’m sure there were enough people that would not doubt his word at the time. I’m sure they have learned their lesson now though.
I hope so. I hope people now will not believe a word Cruz says without independent verification.
I would love to hear from one Carson supporter that he/she received the tweet of a Cruz campaign operative, and then responded by giving up.
We all will have to answer to God one day, including Cruz. IMHO, by his actions, he presents himself as someone he may not truly be. Sad. He was my second choice.
I am glad he apologized.
But, like with Zacheus in the tree, true repentance wants to make right what had been done wrong. It want’s restitution for those who have been injured. It’s all over the bible as a mark of true repentance.
That would mean at a minimum that changed vote totals be acknowledged. There might be no way to rectify that, but an acknowledgement of it is not hard at all.
Once Cruz apologized, individual details don’t matter. Cruz says it happened.
Amen.
The premise of the entire column is a lie.
How could ‘The Body of Christ’ be involved in cheating?
You’ll have to explain. I’m not sure what you are saying. Seriously. This is not a ‘gotcha’.
I live here in Iowa, and was at my local caucus on monday night.
there was NO mention of this carson thing there...in fact, the first I heard of it was tuesday, on FR
I suppose that you can slice and dice the vote tallys and come to the conclusion that 4 flipped votes per precinct would have changed the election result, but I am here to tell you that this Carson thing was not a factor. If it was, it was not enough to flip the election to trump
repub caucus voters...(in IA, you have to be declared to vote in Caucus), turned out 180,000 strong across the state....that is a RECORD turnout for GOP in IA caucus. 40k more than the communist turnout, statewide.
trump finished 5k behind cruz. in my precinct, he came in third, behind cruz AND rubio.
rubio won most of the major urban centers, as did bernie. des moines, davenport, cedar rapids. that said, the rural voters turned out in droves, and overrode that, by voting for cruz and trump.
THAT is something that should be noted.
not trying to be a d^&$, just laying out some facts here, from being on the ground here in IA.
Do those in a caucus center know who someone is supporting after being inside the ‘building’ with them after a bit? Is there any milling around, any conversing?
Nonsense.
The Carson ‘news’ was spread only in a few suburban precincts, where Carson had very little support to start with.
I know Carson supporters. They would not be dissuaded by someone’s tweet.
Nonetheless, we have Cruz’s own apology.
We have operatives in every caucus center and we have group texting.
The technology makes the limitation of this meme by the Cruz people unlikely.
Your are 100% correct to call BS.
I do not believe that that Carson supporters could be that stupid. They knew it was a Cruz supporter talking.
Oh, I am a Cruz supporter.
Carson said that his wife was at a caucus where a Cruz operative said that Carson was suspending his campaign.
She made a speech, said that it was a lie, and got a standing ovation.
How many people were at your local caucus? This lie was not only being spread verbally but via twitter. So you know personally that no one there got any information of this lie on their cell phone?
