I read Trumps 2011 book. His positions on most issues are pretty much the same now as they were then. Cruz voted for the Corker bill before he railed against the Iran nuke deal that resulted from it. Cruz voted for cloture on TPA before he voted against the actual bill. Cruz proposed expanding H1B visas by 500% until he changed his mind in November. Those are not flip flops in your view?

You might want to actually read your own article. The article states that the 2013 H1B visa program was still on the Senate website, but that Cruz had already introduced legislation contrary to that position prior to your article AND that would require Cruz to have changed his position and draft the new legislation much earlier than your article since those things take months to create.

Cruz changed his 2013 policy in 2014, which was before Trump released his immigration policy and before Trump changed his pro-gun ban stance to become a 2nd Amendment supporter, and before Trump donated money to McAuliff’s anti-gun campaign, and before Trump became “pro-life”, and before Trump became anti-amnesty, and after Trump became pro-gay marriage.

So NO, your memory is NOT so good unless you are intentionally spreading your lies.

Trump supported an “assault weapons” ban. That is documented on his exploratory 2012 presidential platform, but now he claims to be a 2nd Amendment supporter. Trump was pro-abortion, including partial birth, but in 2014 changed his stance to being “pro-life” although he concedes the choice is personal and should be between the mother and doctor. Trump stated in 2016 to being a big government pro-ethanol supporter. In 2015, Trump criticized people for defying the pro-gay marriage rulings because it is “the law of the land”.

Some of these are major policy changes since 2012, while some are the same liberal policies that Trump still holds. Trump is left of Romney in most of his positions, which is sad because Romney is a huge RINO.

No, he did not. The article says “The senator teed up his new position in an interview with Laura Ingraham earlier this week in which he said he would not pursue an increase in H1B visas in light of the reports, and that he no longer favored an increase in foreign workers immigrating to the U.S.”
If you search it there are comments from threads on this site from August and September of 2015 that mention Cruz favored expanding the H1B program at that time. Perhaps you have a link that shows Cruz changed his position when you say he did? Otherwise, have a great day.

Voting for TPA cloture was to get people on record. Cruz did NOT EVER SUPPORT TPA. NEVER...NEVER...NEVER

Cruz did change his view on H1B visa. I think I already stated that, but he did so because his constituents demanded it.

Trump was pro-amnesty in 2012 and is now wanting to ban everybody. That is a flip flop. Trump wanted to ban assault weapons in 2012-2013 and extend background check wait time on shotguns and handguns, but now he opposes all gun control. That is a flip flop.

Those two issues alone make Trump untrustworthy. If Trump flips back and nominates anti-gun, pro-amnesty, pro-gay, pro-abortion SCOTUS judges then our nation is screwed, which is VERY possible. Nobody can claim that there is even a slight risk of Cruz doing that!

“earlier this week”

Like I said, Cruz openly changed his position prior to your article despite what the senate website stated.

Sorry, the truth sucks for you, but Cruz did the right thing in changing his stance on ONE issue. Trump changed his stance on EVERY issue. That just shows your double standards, which invalidate your arguments.

Then don’t vote for Trump if you don’t like him. I am not voting for Cruz because I don’t like him.

Don’t worry, I will NOT vote for Trump in the primary or the general, even if he gets the nomination. Sad thing is that those same polls that inflate Trump’s popularity also show Trump to be the ONLY candidate unable to beat Hillary or Sanders in the general election. Voting for Trump is a definite way to ensure a demoncrat President for another 4 years.

Luckily, here in TX, Cruz will crush Trump in the primary.

I am fine with the truth. I originally wrote that Cruz did not change his position until after Trump forced him into it. Trump released his position paper in August 2015. Cruz apparently finally came around in November, after he caught some major backlash for his position on the issue. I honestly don’t care much what Cruz does as I am not voting for him anyways. I just wanted to make sure I remembered things more or less correctly.

“Cruz apparently finally came around in November”

Cruz made it public in early November, but had actually changed the position in late 2014, despite his claims that he only supported the 500% increase to show the hypocrisy of the demoncrates on the amnesty bill that Cruz killed (according to Breitbart).

All Trump released in August 2015 was a speech claiming that he would build the wall and make Mexico pay for it, which is about as ridiculous as it can get. Unfortunately, Mexico won’t pay for crap and Trump can’t make them. It is a hollow/dishonest policy claim on Trump’s part.

Well if you don’t like Cruz and won’t vote for him then ignore him and stop posting lies about him. I get so tired of Trump supporters trashing Cruz by making baseless claims while passing they lies off as fact. At least Trump’s indiscretions are highly documented, indisputable, and easily sourced.

Just like the polls said Trump would beat Cruz in Iowa? I don’t think Hillary or Bernie could beat anybody except a polite guy like Jeb who will not bring up her criminal past. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all shakes out. I will not vote for Cruz ever again in any election. I am not voting for Cornyn or my congressman either. They are disappointing. My son is for Cruz and we disagree. I think we need a non politician to take over the RNC and make real changes. Despite all Cruz says, he is an Ivy league lawyer and an insider politician.

You have your opinions of Cruz, but you are in the tiny minority in TX. Most of us love Cruz, which is why he will win in TX by a huge margin.

I agree about Cornyn, but it is hard to get him out. We’ve tried many times before, but another strong conservative, besides Cruz, has not step up to challenge him.

I think Trump would struggle against Hillary because, despite Hillary’s criminal past, she has a lot of dirt on Trump’s illegal/shady dealings; last I heard over 500 documents ready to go. Plus, Trump will lose the conservative bloc, which will leave him with libertarians (aka liberal lites) and moderates, which would not be enough to win. I think that is what the polls do accurately reflect.

The difference between you and me is that I refuse to vote for Trump because there is little policy difference between Hillary and Trump. Either way, we get a liberal. Your refusal to support Cruz in a general is a little selfish just because you have a few relatively minor issues with him. Of course, you are entitled to your opinions.

I have not posted any lies about Cruz. Cruz has flip flopped on multiple issues. Cruz did not get right on H1B issue until he was pressured into it. Search and read the threads on this site from last fall if you want proof. He did not mention he was a Canadian citizen when he ran for the Senate in Texas and I simply cannot believe that somebody as smart and as trained in the law as he is was totally unaware of the possibility. Where have I lied? I don’t care much for the guy but I do not lie about him. Cruz was born a Canadian citizen and remained one for 43 of his 45 years. I don’t think calling him Canadian is unfair. Have you even read Trump’s immigration paper? It is quite good.

I am not very big on polls but RCP shows that less than 1/2 of Texas republicans plan to vote Cruz in the primary. Perhaps I am not the only person in Texas who doesn’t care for him much.

Michael Berry is a fantastic very conservative radio guy who lives in Houston. His radio show is on in several parts of the country. He is not gay, he has a wife and 2 adopted sons. I am guessing, but he could have been at the gay bar interviewing Shirley Q Liquor, a gay white man who has a comedy act in which he plays a black woman. See #42.

Michael has opened a club called The Redneck Country Club. I haven’t been there but I hear it is great. I try to listen to his program every day.

You are pushing the lie that Cruz knew and intentionally misled the country. You have NO PROOF, therefore it is either your opinion or a blatant lie. If you push your opinion as the truth then it is a blatant lie regardless.

You give two options that Cruz knew and lied or was too stupid to know, which is a LIE on your part. There is option 3 where Cruz did not know for legitimate reasons.

Trump’s immigration paper was written by Sessions. In 2012-2013, Trump is ON RECORD criticizing Romney for being too harsh on illegals, which Trump believed cause Romney to lose the election. It is also ON RECORD that Trump invited dreamers to Trump Towers in 2013-2014 in support of their cause. Those are indisputable FACTS. Trump only because anti-immigration in 2015, which is quite sad. Apparently, by your logic, Trump is lying about his anti-immigration stance now or he was too stupid to realize that illegal immigration was hurting our country. Either way, you’re a fool to support him...according to your own logic, of course.

“RCP shows that less than 1/2 of Texas republicans plan “

As stated before, Trump supporter rely on the polls when it suits them, those same polls that showed Trump beating Cruz by 6-13% in Iowa and yet Trump lost by 4%.

I travel throughout the State and I’m only telling you what I see on a daily basis. Your Trump love affair puts you smack in the teeny, tiny minority and it will go down from here.

I do not know what Trump thought pre 2011. I have read his 2011 book “Time to get Tough” and he articulated the same position then that he holds now. You could read it and see for yourself. Do you really believe that a Harvard trained lawyer never thought to check on his citizenship status for 43 years even though he knew he was born a Canadian citizen? I simply can’t believe that. I think Cruz is being less than honest about this. I was born overseas as all my kids were. We are all sure of our citizenship status and made the effort to find out if anything had to be done to avoid citizenship issues. We are not lawyers with the resources available to somebody holding high public office. Maybe Cruz really is that sloppy but he does not strike me as a sloppy, careless person. Perhaps most lawyers just take their non lawyer Mom’s word on important legal matters?

Michael Berry got the same talking points memo that Levin and several other AM hosts got, last week, just before the IA caucus....to hit Trump on healthcare.

It’s all they’ve got and they’ve been busTED.

“I do not know what Trump thought pre 2011”

I gave you examples of what Trump thinks since 2012. I gave current relative policy positions. For instance, Trump in ON RECORD in 2015 supporting single payer/universal healthcare. That should concern you!

“I think Cruz is being less than honest about this. “

And that is why I called you out for pushing a lie because you have no PROOF and you can’t read minds...

“Perhaps most lawyers just take their non lawyer Mom’s word on important legal matters?”

Give me a single reason as to why he shouldn’t??

Take off your tin foil hate and realize that NOTHING bars Cruz from the Presidency. There is NOTHING in the Constitution or any legal cases that make him ineligible. In fact, most legal scholars and so far, all governing bodies concede that he is eligible. Enough with the silly birth B.S.
