You ever worked a farm? If you ever did, if a New York construction dude said: "I think I may come here and buy a farm".. Like buying a farm is like buying a grocery store. It's a joke to a local. More an insult.

It is like a candidate from a midwestern state insincerely stating:

• "I love it here in Oregon. I'll buy a coffeehouse someday."
• "I love it here in Massachusetts. I'll buy a raw bar and park my car someday."
• "I love it here in Louisiana. I'll buy a swamp someday."
• "I love it here in New Jersey. I'll buy a strip club someday."
• "I love it here in Colorado. I'll buy a ski resort someday."

All pointless commentary. Just be gracious and leave it at that.
