I like Cruz too. In the beginning, I was leaning towards Gov. Walker. I like that he has withstood tough odds to accomplish what he’s accomplished.
My problem with Cruz is the eligibility factor. He’s eligible but that won’t matter if he gets the nomination. The hellfire that will rain down on him from the Democrats and the news media will be relentless. He’ll end up spending half his time answering the same questions about this “controversy” to the detriment of his own message getting out to the public. Cruz has yet to prove he is capable of going over the heads of the media. I don’t like his chances.
I would love to see him remain in the Senate to raise hell and push the right agenda there. He already has that gig.
This wasn't an issue (and to me is not because despite where he was born, his mother was a natural born US citizen and registered his birth with the US consulate in Canada - under this concern no one born overseas to at least one natural born parent would be a US citizen) until Trump made it one AFTER saying his lawyers looked into it and it wasn't an issue. Fear factor stuff.
If.....this is your main concern then I can see your apprehension in supporting him BUT if he has the same principles as you do and a record of defending them then the lawsuit thing would be a pure afterthought.
Walker is a good man and despite his leaning toward amnesty would still probably have made a formidable candidate had his funds not dried up. He was a tad lazy it seemed, like Fred Thompson was.
Trump has done wonders in bringing major issues to the fore and exploiting them not only for his benefit, but that of the country.
I can't back him now as there is a true Conservative in the race, but I can against any Liberal on the planet.
