Sam, please add me to your “Healthier Lifestyle” ping list. Thanks.
For example, here is a way I'm preparing brussels sprouts that others may benefit from. Now most people don't like brussels sprouts but I guarantee you will like these:
Take about a pound of small brussels sprouts (for 2-4 people) and slice off the brown ends. If larger brussels sprouts, also cut them in half.
Put in mixing bowl and sprinkle a small amount of kosher salt. I don't normally add salt to food but you will want to do it here. Also sprinkle in some garlic powder and bacon bits - real bacon bits. Then maybe a tablespoon or two of extra virgin olive oil.
Mix it up until sprouts are nicely covered with glistening olive oil.
Pour onto a sheet of aluminum foil and tent it so nothing spills out during cooking. Put a tablespoon of butter on top so it melts in during the cooking. If using oven, bake at 400 degree for about 40 minutes. Or you can put on a grill for about same amount of time. After 20 minutes, swirl it around so that they blacken more evenly.
I guarantee there will be no leftovers.
