Carson Palmer, Cam Newton first Heisman QBs to face off in playoffs

TEMPE, Ariz. — They differ in nearly every category.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is 36. Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is 26.
Heisman Winning QBs

It seems surprising that two Heisman quarterbacks have never met in the playoffs. Here is a list of the quarterbacks who have won the award in the Super Bowl era.

Palmer is a traditional dropback passer. Newton is a modern mobile quarterback.

It took Palmer 13 seasons to find postseason success. It took Newton just four.

But both Palmer and Newton had individual success in college. When Palmer and Newton face off in Sunday night’s NFC Championship Game in Charlotte, North Carolina, they will be the first Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks to start against each other in the playoffs in NFL history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

The question is, which Carson Palmer will we see next Sunday, the Carson Palmer we’ve seen all year, or the one we saw the last two games?

For what it is worth... from http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/mock-drafts/daniel-jeremiah/275602

While I like Carson Wentz... and he remined me of Troy Aikman--

And while Wentz led North Dakota State University to its fifth straight National Championship, running for two touchdowns and throwing for a third-- It is still the Division I Subdivision.

I cannot help but wonder... if my Boys could get him in the 2nd Round.

A lot depends on how he plays in the Senior Bowl... of which Wentz's Yankee (North) Teams will be coached by Jason and his Cowboynauts--

Before you ask, the NFL took away our #1 Pick... for no reason that I can even think of--
