Cruz is eligible. I proved that over and over since he first filed last spring.

But you’re missing the point. Trump is right to say that democrats will sue and the democrats have already indicated they would.

It has nothing to do with Obama who alleges he was born in Hawaii.

Cruz was born in Canada and although myself and constitutional scholars will say Cruz is eligible because of his mother, it won’t stop the issue from emerging and confusing a substantial portion of the electorate.

Not only have democrats indicated their intentions, but Cruz’ enemies in the Senate have stated that he is not eligible and there will not be any sort of resolution to settle it (as was done for the fraud named McCain).

Cruz will need to win a motion to dismiss. If he loses that, it could take a very long time to settle. That is what Trump is saying.

I understand what Trump is saying, and you are right that a lawsuit could take time to resolve, especially if Cruz were to lose a motion to dismiss.

But my point is this - who cares? Who cares if the Dems sue? Who cares if it takes time to resolve? It hasn't affected Obama, why would it affect Cruz? Why should Cruz leave the race out of fear of such a lawsuit? Would Trump back out of a business deal because of the threat of a baseless lawsuit?

I agree with you. This Trump attacks Cruz line is just the type of thing the media loves. The same questions are going to be asked and litigated by the Democrats and breathlessly reported by the media... Hillary's campaign was responsible for starting the questions about Obama’s eligibility. The difference is that this time around the Democrats will have the media on their side and it will be a factor if Cruz is the nominee.

It doesn't make a bit of difference what Trump says... he has just stated the obvious. This is because this is not a right or wrong argument as much as it is going to be distorted by politics and a sympathetic press. Do we need to remind people here that the media is biased... biased against conservatives like Cruz.
