Bengals intercept a pass to seal the game. Promptly fumble it back to the Steelers. Then commit 30 yards of penalties in the final seconds to allow Pittsburgh the game-winning chip shot field goal.
Thanks. The announcers said a Bengal shoved someone, then the camera showed some Pittsburgh assistant coach walking among the players. I thought the Bengal shoved that coach.
The only bright side of being a 49ers fan in years like this is at least I don’t have to be a Bengals fan and watch them get to the playoffs every year but always find a way to lose their first game.
Ref’s sucked, but Bengals choked ... big time.
Pacman Jones thought he was out at the strip club and bumped a ref.
That was not a choke . . . that was ONE player undisciplined enough to risk the game that the rest of his teammates gave everything they had to win. Why that player, who had already been identified as a loose cannon was allowed back unto the field is beyond me.
I totally agree with the CBS crew that the last couple of minutes was a travesty.
No, the only “joke” was the Bengals.
After the cheapshot (15 yard penalty #1) the Bengal players were out there trying to persuade the refs. One Bengal player bumps a ref and Viola! 15 yard penalty #2 and the winning field goal is a 35 yard chip shot.
Jungle ball losers.
Oilers vs Bills ‘92 playoffs is the biggest choke in history.
“If I own the Bengals, Burfict, Adam Jones, and Marvin Lewis are gone.”
The NFL needs to eject probably 10 people from the NFL after that game, a few coaches as well. Any coach taking the field to harass an opposing player needs a reminder what unemployment looks like.
A: Because Cincinnati would demand one too.
The fumble was the end. Ridiculous to not just go to the ground. The game was all but over.
The crap at the end is so overblown. Guy went in with his shoulder. Shouldn’t have finished the play, but that play is pretty run of the mill. Guy’s head came down from the first hit. He should have avoided but it was the deciding moments of the game and high intensity to break up the play.
The guy had made several of the huge, deciding plays earlier to set up the likely win. Earlier in the game the steelers guy hit helmet to helmet and was rewarded with a turnover. No outrage there, of course.
Wow. Punched Porter? I remember a Browns game where our guy got ejected from the game for fighting with Porter (when he was still a player) during pre game warm ups.
When they did attempt a 2 point conversion, why in the world would they toss a weak lateral?
Naw, after almost 25 years the Bengals have let the 92’ Oilers off the hook.
Superbowl 1 was between the Packers and the Chiefs. Maybe it’ll happen again for 50.
Watched it all the way. Whatta game! Reminded me of the Stiller’s/Raiders game with the Bradshaw and Stabler shootout.
Exactly. 55 made too hard a play at the end, but he led the defense after the BS non call on helmet hit to utterly dominate that game in the second half. He’s a top 20 defensive player in the league.
Three players. One that fumbled, one that tried to break a guy’s neck, and one that hit a ref or a coach.
I’m rooting for Washington just because it will really upset Dingy Harry and his dark-skinned cousin Barrrack.
Clean your glasses. What Burfict did, as the former pro football player analysts said, was “headhunting.” That’s another way of saying “assault.” He could have killed or seriously injured Brown.
Burfict is a disgrace to football. He should be banished from the NFL for life.
