Years ago, when my kids were still at home, we had this awesome wood stove in the house we bought. I had never used wood so it was new to me. After the first fire we lit I was absolutely sold! Never used any other heat while living there, and it heated the entire house!

The stove itself had just the opening for logs and two small side downdraft holes. We learned quickly not to put more than a couple logs in as it was designed to burn hot with few logs.

There’s nothing like the heat from a wood stove in the winter IMO. The heat is so warm and cozy....comfortable doesn’t say enough....

As someone who used to heat my home by wood (approx 25 plus years) went with propane to dam old and the wife didn't want to chance losing me to another heart attack.

This may sound crazy, but the wood heat, I felt warmed your bones, thus you were much warmer. Don't miss going to the wood shed in the cold mornings, for heat.:-)

I agree-I wish we had wood heat.
